The Villa and the Views!
Villa on the Bay is a private residence at the end of a paved and lighted road, perched atop the lush, southern ridge of Marigot Bay. It is one of only a couple of privately-owned villas in Marigot Bay that can sleep 10 to 12 people and that take only one reservation at a time, resulting in the guests for each reservation having exclusive and private use of the entire villa, pool, and property (most other villas in the Marigot Bay area take multiple reservations for different groups at the same time, resulting in guests having to share common areas such as the pool, parking, and grounds). Because of the villa’s placement at the top and end of the ridge, there are almost-360-degree, direct views of both the majestic Caribbean Sea and beautiful Marigot Bay.
Our two-floor villa, with custom-made and oversized wooden spiral staircase, has 4500 square feet of indoor living space plus six decks (not a typo!) providing expansive outdoor living space and breathtaking views – at three different heights above the water – of the sea, cliffs, both the inner and outer bays of Marigot Bay (with its beautiful sailboats and yachts), the palm-lined Marigot Bay Beach separating the inner and outer bays, the northern ridge of Marigot Bay with its flowering and palm trees, vines, and other Caribbean greenery, and, on a clear day, the island of Martinique to the north.
Dining
Our villa has a full-size and fully-equipped kitchen, with large island, that comes stocked with all cooking essentials to allow for home-cooked meals. The villa also has a coffee and tea bar stocked with a variety of teas, coffees, and sugars, allowing you to brew yourself a cup to sip on while sitting on one of the decks watching the sun rise (or set) over the sea and bay. If you desire something fancier, help yourself to our single-serve espresso/latte/cappuccino machine. The large window above the kitchen sink that looks directly at the Caribbean Sea almost makes you wish you had to do some dishes (but you don’t thanks to the villa’s housekeeper, Rose).
Amenities
The villa’s great room has vaulted traditional wood-slat Caribbean ceilings, Caribbean palm-leaf ceiling fans, an oversized dining table, and a sitting area with a large, wall-mounted television in case you want to look at something other than the natural beauty that is visible from three full walls of 8-foot-high, hurricane-rated, easy-open sliding glass doors that retract, creating a seamless transition from the inside to the outdoors, and welcoming a magnificently-refreshing Caribbean breeze.
Villa on the Bay has five spacious bedrooms, each with its own private full bath, plus an extra full bath off of the great room, and an extra half bath on the pool level for pool use. There is a heated and lighted pool directly overlooking Marigot Bay that is surrounded by an oversized deck with ten teak chaise lounges for relaxing, a sun bed with cushion, pillows and sun cover, two hanging rope chairs, a hammock, and one of four outdoor dining tables. On another deck, the villa provides an outdoor barbeque grill, another of the outdoor dining tables, and a romantic 4-person high-top table perfect for enjoying an adult beverage while sitting above where the Caribbean Sea meets Marigot Bay, and the water transitions from one shade of blue to another to another . . . The villa also has a private parking area that can accommodate two to three cars, a front gate, fire alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, one closet safe, cable, wi-fi, and an outdoor shower.
Distance to Beach, Shops & Restaurants
From Villa on the Bay, it is a mere three-minute drive down the ridge to the village of Marigot Bay where Marigot Bay Beach, many different shops, and numerous restaurants are located. If you prefer to walk, it’s a scenic walk that takes approximately 10 minutes into town (going downhill), and approximately 15 minutes coming back to the villa (going uphill).
We also supply beach towels so you don't have to bring any!
